Wherever you go, there you are. Original watercolor 24x22".
My journey through the Roman arena in Arles many years ago coincided with an intense personal journey within myself. My internal struggle more evident amidst the town and arena's stark emptiness. Pitch black corridors alternating with such extremely blinding light pouring through the portals, it was impossible to adjust - creating an almost out-of-body experience. Finally venturing out into the blinding light of the arena came to take on feelings of a spiritual journey.
