Artist's Description
One hot summer day while I was living in NYC, a sudden rain storm came down hard just before returning home. The dogs and I were soaked just crossing the street to my apartment. When it ended, it was so hot, wet and humid outside, this native Southern Californian had to go out and experience just what that was. We took a walk out into Central Park and into the forest-like Ramble. I felt like I could almost see the water molecules floating in the air... it was so thick. When I got home, I painted my impression of it.
About Judy Frisk
I'm Judy Frisk and I'm an artist working in watercolor, printmaking and figure drawing. My art background was in figure drawing, printmaking (primarily etching) and black and white pre-digital photography. Over the years I've found creative expression through many other media, including hand-built ceramics, stained glass, illustration and photography for posters and album graphics. I've also worked in computer and multimedia programming, taught computer graphics, and in 1998 formed 2 Worlds Interactive and for 20 years designed highly visual, custom websites for music and the arts.
